What clown in Bubble Tip Anemone

Other than maroon clowns, what other clown will host in my Rose Bubble Tip Anemone? I got a black and white clown and no luck, just swims like a maniac up top..lol..Will true percs host? Thanks for all info.

Your b&w ocellaris might take to the anemone at some point. It can take a while. Percs may or may not, E. quadricolor is not a natural host of either ocellaris or percula, but often hosts in aquariums. With an ocellaris already in the tank, your options are limited as to another species of clownfish. Another ocellaris or perhaps a percula would work. Natural symbionts with RBTA's are tomato, maroon, clarkii, none of which would be a good idea with your ocellaris. Skunks are peaceful often times, but also not natural symbionts with RBTA's, so also not a sure bet to take to the anemone.

Thanks, at this point, I think I'm going to try to trade my black and white for the smallest maroon I can find. Thanks

Maroons are great fish, lots of personality and beautiful, but they are aggressive. Almost certainly it will go to your RBTA. You want to get a maroon that is no more than a third the diameter of the anemone.

So percs might work huh? I might get one and see how he does...I just don't want to get a clown that will be a monster in a year...

True percs don't get very big, I wouldn't think anyone would call them "monsters". I think maroons are gorgeous, they do get big, and could become "monsters of the deep". No problem having enough room for them in your 225 though.

Sorry, meant the maroons can get to a size that's "Monstrous" and their attitude and aggressive behavior doesn't help any. I have the size in tank for the maroon(s), but since the RBTA is my "center piece", I don't want my other fish having to take a detour from the middle of my tank due to being afraid of getting nipped at. I guess I have to decide whether to take the chance with a true perc or just go ahead and get the smallest maroon I can find.

My 1" Clarkii took to my 1.5" BTA instantly. Very cute. I believe Clarkiis eventually get larger than Percs (maybe comparable to Maroons) and they certainly shouldn't be placed with other clowns.

I have a pair of 2-banded clowns that host my BTA. They were hosting the nem in the fish store so I took home all 3. They're all over it in my tank too

Ocellaris may take. My orange didn't take until I added the black baby. Maybe because the black one was fearful, or I dunno what, but in a matter of a couple days both were in.

(that was my bta which eventually split. Both halves were sold off and my clowns now host a crocea.)
