What colors do Zenia occur in?

What are all the colors you have seen Zenia in?? I have seen White, the common kinda pinkish, and have seen pic of the "blue" Zenia. I recently found of a frag of Zenia that is labeled pink, but I think it looks more of a reddish color. Just curious to see if it is dyed.

xenia come in the colors you noted. Also note that the blue xenias are non-pulsing (at least the ones I have seen in person/read about). The reddish/tan xenia was most likely the elongata, also known as waving hand xenia. Was it on a longish stalk with long slender "fingers" ? These do naturally occur in a tan/reddish color, but I have not seen them in a predominately red coloration (where the red stands out more than say a tan or flesh color)

Here is an example of a few different colors in one picture, i.e. Garf bali two toned pom pom, blue xenia (cespitularia) and a turquoise morph.

those are sweet!! if you ever frag those let me know >=)~. Anyone ever seen the "Blue Zenia in the Julian Sprung A Quick Reference Guide to Coral?? The guy at the LFS told me he got it once and it lost all its color in a day and that if tank conditions aren't perfect it will lose color and die?? Is this so? I saw a pic of a frag that was supposedly the Zenia, but I did not see any difference in color.

The Blue Cespitularia is what's shown in that tank picture, nice tank! It's often refered to as a xenia since it grows like one. There are also the Silverbacks and Goldenbacks which are similar to Elongatas, but have a metallic sheen behind each pinnule. Here's another 2 tone color morph for you.

You'll also notice ones on the right which have purple pinnules with white tips.

If it's a real obviuos red, it's probably dyed. The most pinkish they get is like in the photo above.

I wonder if this post was created due to an Indonesian Elongata shown on Ebay, if it is, it's camera tricks. Those Bali look reddish in the picture above, but they're really brown.

If you are talking about my picture than the color you see is the true color, no camera tricks. Go to garfs website and look at the original.

You can see it in the full tank shot, right lower corner.

Here it is next to a pink pom pom xenia.

I would have to respectfully disagree if your talking about XeniaMania's picture. Light plays such a major roll in xenia color, to make such a claim is just incorrect.

Personally never seen any xenia beyond pink or tan.

The picture was taken with the flash on to wash out the blue 20K lighting. Here's another picture with other xenias for color comparison.

I do agree that lights play tricks on color, but I hope everyone enjoys this picture. Don't mind the hair algae, just nutrient rich water for xenias...
