i dont know if it is my nitrate level if that is high could that be a reason they are not dieing i have had about 9-10 months

i just tested all my levels and everything was ok just my calsum was 345 i also just rearanged my tank i got 35 pounds of new live rock

I've got the opposite problem - they're spreading all over the place. but then again i change my water alot and leave the lights on more than I should. maybe that's it.

ya i have my lights on a timer for only 10 hours a day is that not enough ? and i slack on water changes to may be 1 every 3 months

Whats your ph and alkalinity doing...chances are, if your calcium is
that low and your only changing water every 3 months and not dosing anything, the ph/alk is going to be low...try dripping kalk... Was the rock cured, and if you didnt buy from someone you trust then probably not...Lots of reasons why but the usual problem is nitrate, ph or alk....

all that stuff is ok just calcium is low i bought the rock from a member off this web site i used the two part i just need to get my calcium level up i think

While calcium is important in reefs it is most important when dealing with stony corals.

If you have mostly softies Ca levels will mostly influence your Coralline growth-which is a good thing because its a calcium based algae that when covering your rocks tends to stave off other algaes that could grow on it especially in a tank with water problems.

Corals need time to settle down into a tank. The best thing you can do to get them to grow and spread is to find a spot where they are happy and make sure they stay there (wedged in a rock, glued, epoxied etc) .. once they have time to settle and feel they aren't floating around the ocean they will start to get to the growing.

I leave my GSP on the sand and it just makes its mat over the sand even with my shrimp and gobies mussing it up.. It stays in one place and I believe somehow senses it based on the light it receives every day and just deals with the sand.

The same with zoos though I keep most on the rockwork or give them time on the sand bed to encrust their plugs before I put them near where i want them to grow.

Hope this helps a little bit!

i think if i stop moving **** around and not touch stuff it should start to spread

Thats probably your problem. I've found that the less I mess with my tank/locations of corals, the more growth I get.
