what did i just find in my tank?

Just picked up a old frag that ended up not making it when I was doing a water change tank found these things on it can anyone help tell me what they are/ if they are bad I removed them from my tank and have never seen them before.

looks like bristle worm, some people like them as filter feeders and part of the CUC but some people dislike them and see them as pest. Be careful as the spines on its side that looks like legs are a million needles that will sting you kind of like a cactus

So should I keep it or trash the frag? There were two or three on the frag

lots of mixed opinions on this :P Like other users said it is a very active feeder and a good addition to a CUC. Best bet is to do your own research now that you know exactly what it is and make your decision after. I would keep it and maybe place it in my sump but i find them dangerous for myself in the DT. So if I was in your situation id dump the rock in the sump.

They have always been good for my tank. The population will wax and wane based on the food supply they get. I have never had this happen in 8 years, but from my understanding, they can reproduce in large numbers if well fed but the population will decrease when the food source is reduced.

Great part of the CUC, free and they reproduce in the tank. Keep them.
