Hi

I ask because my fish have what i think is ich, but in all the research i have made, ich have a cycle that spot disappear in a few days and reapppear in a few weeks, but my fish have had white spot for 2 weeks now, they seen to disappear during day and fish is clean of white spot, but in the morning they are full of spots.

Given that this is my first sick fish in 3 years of aquarium keeping i don't know if i'm diagnosing wrong and want to do best, QT is ready and with the fish i have catch but i still have 3 guys that don't go into traps, i'll be trying my 2 last shot this week if they don't go, i'll remove rocks a catch then.

Can you describe the behavior of the fish? Also remember that parasites are not synchronous, that is they do not all start and stop at the same time. It is normal for cryptocaryon irritans to go away and reappear because of the nature of the life cycle, but that is only the visible symptoms, as they may still have it in their gills.

Fish look fine, they have the white spots that come and go during day and night, sometime the fish scratch with the sand or do some fast moving, but everything else is fine, the fish that introduce the disease was an atlantic blue tang, that died but no other fish have die, they all eat fine.

ohhh and the female clarkii became a lot more aggressive after illness.

i had the same thing. In my 20 long i had a tomato, diamond sand sift goby and algae starry blenny. For MONTHS (4+) the tomato had a white spot here or there, then it would go away every couple days like a routine. Tomato even grew a lil. Then one night my algae blenny dies when it looked completely normal day b4. Next night tomato dies. Next day sand sift goby looks real haggard with white spots. next day it dies.

So i keep my reef tank going without fish for 2 months maybe even 3. Then my friend gives me a tomato like a week ago and its getting the same appearing disappearing spots.

I have seen this tomato for months in two other tanks looking spot free so i have to assume it contracted this disease or parasite in my tank. I wish we could have our fish analyzed or something
