What do "hairy" acro crabs do?

I have a bunch of acros, some of which contain those "hairy" acro crabs. From what I've read on here they are bad. What do they do? I'm just wondering if it's worth my time to chase these things down.

they eat polpys! You will have little polyp extention and coral will look as if it is dying. Well that was my problem. I thought my water was off somewhere took me 2 weeks to figure out the problem.

If possible do a freshwater dip and they will normally come out by themselves; or try and get them out some other way.

Depends on what kind of crab. Some commensal crabs in corals are fairly hairy though. Commensalism, by definition, imparts relatively no harm to one partner (the coral).

They look like they have huge pinchers so I kinda thought they looked suspect. They really hop from coral to coral too, unlike the others. Does anyone have any pics of "okay" hairy crabs?
