What do you do with a pinched mantle?

My maxima about three inches started to curl up on one side. So how do you do the freashwater dip for them?

im pretty sure you just match the PH of the tank to the freshwater and dip them, not sure how long though....anyone else?

Yes, take RO/DI water and raise the PH and temperature to your tanks and drop them in.

Ive done dips for 10-20 minutes at a time but it just masks PM for a few weeks. The clams always eventually die from it.

There is still no cure for PM.

Wasn't there something written up on this in ReefKeeping or Advanced Aquarist or something...IIRC it did cure them, no?

Ive done a FW dip to a number of clams after I introduced my "last" clam. I just had to get that last clam in there. :( That clam took out 4 other clams I had for years.

The dips seem to help for a few weeks but it always came back. My Derasa lasted the longest but it also eventually gave in to PM.

SDguy, do you have a link? In reading the clam forum, it seems that my experience is the norm. Very few, if any have been cured. Last I heard, Barry at Clams Direct was working on a treatment for the protozoa.
