What Do You Feed A Bta?

I feed mine silversides, squid, shrimp, scallop, even formula VHP (very high protein) once in a while. I feed two or three times per week myself.

So a couple times a week.
I tried to feed mine but it didnt eat. I have only had him for about
3 days. Was this to early?
So does anyone know what typ it is? Its green with purple/pinkish tips...

Hard to ID with out a picture.

3 days is too early to start feeding, IMO, give it time to settle in.

As for feeding, while I no longer keep BTAs -- clone too often and take up SPS space --- I did keep them for 7+ years. I switched off b/t krill and silversides and feed them twice a month at most.

I fed mine the night it got home and it ate. A little slow, but it ate. If your anemone doesn't eat, it is because it doesn't want to. If it spits the food out, it isn't hungry or the piece you tried to feed it is too big. You should be ok with two times a week. You will get varying opinions on the frequency that you are supposed to feed them. I try twice a week. If my BTA isn't hungry, it won't eat. If it is, it will eat. I just left mine for 5 days without feeding and came home and it looked great. I fed it and it ate right away last night. They are very hardy so you will be fine. They like meaty foods though. Any from the list above is great. I feed mine silversides and occasionally change up.

all the big chunks in rods food, so it gets an assortment of squid, scallop, shrimp, krill, mysis shrimp, whatever is in the chunk I defrost for the tank.
