Mine tend to do fine on light and good water conditions.

Leathers don't need to be fed, all they need is good light and flow.

I indirectly feed mine phyofeast, and rotifeast. Indirectly because I feed the whole tank. But as said before, not necessary.

Leathers generally will not eat much of what you can add. Light is best, but water quality, that depends on the leather actually!

Some do like a little more "dirty water" (aka nutrient rich).
