Just want to find out what everyone is feeding and how often and what time of day are you feeding your inverts. Thanks and have a great weekend everyone, Chris

You sure do have a lot of tanks :)
I have a 300 mixed reef with about 20 fish, mostly under 3". I feed a mix of several brands of flake food, PE mysis, and some of the other frozen foods, like "marine cuisine" and spirulina brine, usually twice daily or whenever I want to see them eat :). I don't target feed any of the 12 clams I have or any of the LPS or SPS, and they are doing fine on their own. If I don't see any algae growing on the glass or sand, then I feed more to be sure the zooxanthellae have some nitrogen and phosphate available.

Thanks Jeff, Tony Stewart fan I see, I am a fan of his as well. Does anybody else feed inverts on here?I feed DT's phytoplankton every other day an hour befor the hallides go off.I have just started using coral frenzy dry food that you mix with water as well.My worry is does this add to the nitrate and phoshate problems? Thanks for reading and hope everyone expresses there opinion on this subject, Chris

I target feed my LPS and some SPS 1-2 times a week. I use Cyclopeeze and a mixture that I make myself. I feed the same foods to my fish. When I'm too rushed my fish get dried food. (Not very often as I've had the same food for years.)

I did the phytoplankton thing for a while, but it seemed to just promote algae growth. My clams seem to do just fine without it.

I found some new stuff called coral food mix from H2O Life. It has rotifers, cyclops copepods, moina, phytoplankton, spirulina, and vit. C. I'll let you know how well it works. I also feed BioPlankton from LiquidLife. I do it only once a week usually. It's a frozen planktonic that lasts forever and is extremely potent. It's perfect for filter feeders.

You might also consider making some "pappone" coral food. I think some folks on here use it and I might make up a batch and try it out.
As for DT's phyto, there are two "camps" out there, one says you can't raise clams without it, the other says it's a waste of money... I tried it and saw no difference with or without it. Sure it is a good product, but I think it's application is limited to the really small clams.

PS - yep, tony stewart fan, saw he got another one today
