What do you feed?

Oyster eggs, cyclops in frozen cubes and rotifers in frozen cubes. Wavebox and tunze streams put on feed mode, main returns left on. Couple of times a week. Varies on which I feed but I randomly rotate.

are there any tell tale signs of a coral accepting food beter than another type of food(ie polyp extension)?

You will see a corals reaction to rotifers added to the water column. It is quite obvious. Many reefers add rotifers first to trigger the feeding response and then target feed certain corals ( lobos , scolymias etc ) with pieces of shrimp or silversides.

any particular food for acros that have the best effect without effecting water conditions

All foods are going to effect water conditions period.... your adding matter and substance and it has to go somewhere..... either utilized or waisted....

Cyclopese and Rotifers have worked best for me

You will find it in most LFS if they carry stuff beyond the dreaded brine shrimp. Cubes of very small diameter animals which are the right size to be gobbled up by the polyps of hungry acropora.

You don't like brine shrimp GMAX? Is that not a good food choice for fish. Because I currently use that on and off.

Brine shrimp has almost no nutritional value. Its the fish food version of Fruit Loops. Mysis shrimp is a much better choice to feed your fish.

come on gmax i think fruit loops have more nutrition than brine lol!!one thing that we feed our lps and acros is 2 little fishes zoplan ive used it for a couple of years and it really gets a great feeding response from corals.its freeze dried and you rehydrate it so one can goes a long ways for your money invested.

Golden pearls has some good choices for acros.
I make up a food for fish and corals, the fish tear into it and spread the finer foods around the tank for the corals.

DT's Phyto, Cyclopeeze, M.Y.S.I.S shrimp: this stuff I found locally in a big frozen bag, nice big pieces for the fish, smaller ones for the corals....and I know most defrost and drain the other stuff but I think it add nutrients to the water for the SPS.

Because I feed every other day, I am able to feed slightly more in a sitting.....because of this it increases the chance of the SPS catching something especially the cyclopeeze.....yesterday I was suprised when each SPS had caught more than I wanted to count.

If you don't use some kind of phyto, I noticed when not using it that my coloration fades and growth slows a little.

I have used the Oyster eggs, but did not see any difference for the cost and amount you get.
