I use a 12cc Syringe most of the time, or a Turkey Baster.Depends in what I am target feeding, and what is being fed.For photoPlankton or RotiFeast, I use the syringe, for Mysis or brine shrimp, I use the Turkey Baster
Turn of pumps first will help, cut the top off of a 2-3 liter soda bottle and place it over the colony like a little greenhouse then use a turkey baster to shoot some food in the top. This will keep crabs, snails and fish from getting the food before the coral can.
The turkey baster is a good idea, but it requires me to put my arms in the tank more often than I care to. Here's a picture of the business end of my feeder:
The syringe is the kind you use to feed liquid medicine to babies. It's attached to a length of rigid airline tubing with a piece of flexible tubing. On the other end I attach another short length of flexible tubing because it's softer and less likely to irritate a coral.
I thaw frozen food in a little plastic cup and draw it into the syringe. This also allows me to direct food to fish that are timid eaters.
Sea Squirt , extends up to 32 inches or so (dry arms ). will handle liquids and up to brine shrimp, mysis and larger need a hole enlargement. Available at most friendly on line fish
stores for about $18 or $20. I love mine.
I have some picturess of my grandkids that when I took them right before I snap the picture, I say, "Okay, everyone say Papa wears a thong". You should see the looks on their faces. :crazy1:
Well I use two little fishes the thing!!!!!!!!! It works great just google the thing made by two little fishes co. Works way better than my turkey blaster. You can get to any coral anywhere in the tank.
