I'll start by saying that I like to feed my fish. Happy fish equates to happy aquarium. I am looking to everyones experience with different foods that work so I can diversify the diet as much as possible. I have from largest to smallest

Sailfin ~ 5"
Kole ~ 5"
Powder Blue ~ 4"
Naso ~ 4"
Blue ~ 3"

There are also 5 wrasses in the tank and they get what is 'leftover'. The fish get fed once a day over a 20 minute period which includes

Ocean Nutrition Formula Two Flake - 2-3 healthy pinches
Ocean Nutrition Formula One Flake - 1-2 pinches
Ocean Nutrition BrineShrimp Flake - 1 pinches
Kent Platinum Carnivore Pellet - 1 pinch
Kent Platinum Herbivore Pellet - 1 pinch
Alternate Days Hikari Spirulina or Brine Shrimp with cyclop-eeze

My question would be what alternate substitutes to enrich the diet rather in adding to the feeding list already. I have had no success over the years with Ocean nutrition frozen food which includes prime reef, with and without gel binder and brine shrimp cubes.

Hi Nick, I too have a Blonde Naso and a Blue Hippo (Yellow belly) and these guys can eat all day and all night. What I have noticed they love the most besides pellets are "Emerald Entree" as well as "Marine Cuisine" (both can be picked up at any Petco). Also a MUST with Tangs is Nori or seaweed as it is a huge part of their natural diet in the wild. I get half a sheet or a full sheet sometimes and wrap it around a rock with rubberband and drop it to the bottom of the tank. They go nuts over it. It helps them stay healthy and it fattens them up like you wouldn't believe. Anyway, good luck with your tangs, you sure picked some beauties.

I agree. You need to add seaweed to their diet. With that collection, I would expect they would like nearly an 8x10 inch sheet of Nori every day.

I heartily endorse using Nori on a clip. Be sure and fold it several times when hanging. Obtainable from Asian food stores or your local supermarket under Asian food.

Thanks. That was a minor omission on my part. Twice a week they get fed half a sheet of Ocean Nutrition Seaweed Select Green Marine Algae. When the box runs out I was going to replace it with Nori from the Asian Market by my work. By the sounds of it I may need to increase the amount of seaweed they are getting.

I feed seaweed everyday to my hippo, sailfin and naso. Seaweed selects IMO is better than grocery store nori in that it stays together slightly better on the clip. I also feed collard greens everyday. I put the seaweed selects on a clip at one end of the tank and collard greens on another end. Collard greens are as close to seaweed nutriotion as you can get and there only about a $1.50 for a bunch of stalks. My fish kill it.

I think daily is proper for the healthiest tangs so I agree with sean48183. They graze constantly. I prefer Nori as it is the most cost effective and readily available (at least here).
