I just got a 37g column/cube tank and I am wondering how to provide filtration for this tiny tank. It measures 20"x18"x24" so there isn't much room for HOB equipment. I'd really like to keep the tank sumpless since it will be in my room and the stand doesn't allow a sump. I have a HOB fuge I could use, but it measures 19" so there wouldn't be any room for anything else. I have a HOB skimmer as well, but that takes up a good 8" roughly? I'd like to have a skimmer and fuge. I was considering usuing a HOB filter with a smaller pump and make it into a DIY fuge and use my HOB skimmer. Also what lights is everyone running on these style tanks? I am leaning towards an Iwasaki 175w halide with some sort of actinic supplements. I would like to have SPS, clams and zoas mainly, since this tank will house any corals that my angels try to eat. I will have a deep sandbed so it won't be a 24" deep tank. Thanks for any help, advice and suggestions anyone can give.
