I have been debating what type of filters I should use for my system and thought I would ask you for your opinion. I currently have 6 - 20 gallon tanks with a 30 gallon sump (150 gallons). I have pairs of clowns in 4 of the tanks, and have the other two with bangaii pairs. I will be adding another 160 gallons of 20 gallon tanks, with 8 more pairs in them. I have a euroreef skimmer on the system now, and will be adding a wetdry for some biological filtering. I do not have any LR in the tanks now but was considering a 40 gallon LR and refugium tank to be added to the system but I am not sure I want to take a chance of getting hitchhikers. I have no sand in the system now either but could add a DSB to a fuge.
What methods of filteration should I use with a breeding system that is cost effective (only a partial concern because of scale) and works well, along with is easy enough to maintain? I typically only run skimmers on my display tanks but I have plenty of LR in them.
