What happen when your zoo's die?

I wonder after reading about the toxicity on zoo's, will they contaminate the tank when they die?

Also, if the cleanup crew eat them, wouldn't they die also?

I'm asking because I got some red hair algae growing on my zoos causing them to close and probably killing them. I really don't want to disturbe/move/clean them due to the toxin issue.

What happen to the toxin after they die, if they do?

TIA

they go to zoo heaven

sorry. i couldnt resist.

put on some gloves if your worried about handling them. or get your algae in check so its not irritating them. i've had zoos die in my tank with no ill effects.

The effect of this toxicity on humans is not the same as it is on fish. I don't know what a fish has, but our Central Nervous System is not the same as there's, if they have one. This explains why we can become very sick and they won't when they consume an entire colony and feel no ill affects at all. Dead or dying polyps will not destroy your water quality. An entire tank of die off, yes, but now a frag, colony or polyp or two.
