What Happend???

Yesterday I had a small rock covered in Zoos and when I got home today they where gone. They have been growing there for months and looked awesome. Did something eat them? Do they have predators? I did notice a small crab with sharp pointed claws in a hole the other day.

do you have any before/ after pics? how long were they in the tank? do you have any other zoas? what are your inhabitants, and water params???

about 1 year
lots of others
flame, maroon, blenny, pistol shrimp, fire shrimp
water is normal, nothing changed
somethings eating them

i would check for nudis. seems like something is eating them. does your flame angel ever pick on your softies? were they open and fine last time you saw them? i would definately keep an eye on your other colonies, and look at them with a flashlight when the lights go out. good luck...

Did the crab look like the one in the link below? I had one that was munching my zoos, wiped out 15 polyp colonies overnight. Took forever to catch it.

I found him in a rock I can take it out but I need to break open the rock

That's how I ended up getting mine out. They hold on really tight. I had to chase it out of the hole from the back side with a bamboo skewer. Luckily the hole went all the way through the rock.

Fresh crab meat anyone??? LOL I feel kinda bad but I don't want to lose all my zoos over one little crab. May he rest in peace.

Their shells are really hard. Were you able to collect the dead crab. Just to make sure you got it.

I know, dont make me feel worse. After I committed the crime with in minutes my conch was investigating the crime seen. Need less to say the conch was there the whole night enjoying fresh crab.
