new Elegance coral

So what do you fees these guys? I tried direct feeding with coral frenzy but saw no noticeable reaction on any of the two corals. They are very new. I got the frogspawn on saturday and the elegance the next day. I tried feeding both yesterday but i got nothing....maybe they arent fully aclimated yet?

I tried feeding my frogspawn many times and never once saw it take any food in. I don't bother feeding it now and it's been doing fine without it. I think most people don't bother feeding their frogspawns either.
I can't offer any advice on the elegance as I've never had one. Maybe give it another day or two to acclimate before trying to feed it again.

eh, I've seen my frogspawn eat, but its almost like I have to force it. I literally tuck mysis into its fronds.
I don't bother with that anymore either...it's fine without me harassing it!

There are threads on taking care of the Elegance. Can you search? If not I can look it up in my history ....

Wow, are frogspawn really that hard to feed? Just turn the lights out for an hour, come back and their mouths will be open, ready to eat anything.

I recomend using this food. O.N food by formula one is the best way to go. Its meant for fish but I think is better suited to corals. Its good because its a huge mixture of many different ingrediants, and it can be cut to any shape or size.

They can be found in any lfs, or most of them. Great food and is greatly accepted by any lps and some zoanthids. It literally sticks to them so well, taking it off would be ripping the tentacles off with the food.

Heres the link I discovered it from:

Heres my frogspawn eating large pieces of the stuff:

ill try feeding once the lights have been dimed. I lps maybe feed at night or close to?

If your talking about feeding the frogspawn, you can feed any time you want, you just have to somehow make them open their mouths, some people use cyclopeeze, but that has never worked, so I just turn off the lights for an hour then feed when their mouths are open.
If they aren't open, good luck, they won't eat it, it will just get all mucusy and fall off.

I've got the two corals in my tank and they eat as beasts I have only to put some meaty foofd (small pieces of shrimp or anything and they eat it. They did that from the very begining, even the two pieces of aussi caty that I fraggedt to have two friends instead of one are eating very heavily.

Yeah, I also tried cyclop eeze hearing how good it was and how many people use it for everything, it doesn't do anything at all.

I feed my frog in the nigth, really small pices of shrimp or squid, soaked with phitoplan and sealcon, seems t be working, has strat to split and 2 little heads are showing on the base.

Doit in the nigth with ligths off so fish won´t take away the food.

OK got the elegance to feed

OK got the elegance to feed

I finally found out how to feed the elegance. I just sucked up some brine shrimp in a seringe or baster and threw them directly on the polyp, not the tentacles. The reaction is EXTREMELEY slow as it starts to fold on the food. I never see the mouth open, I just see alot of brine shrimp, fold, no brine shrimp. But io repeat it was very very slow. I havent managed to do this on the frogspawn though...

You can also get the froggie to feed by putting heavy food near its mouth, it will be forced to digest due to gravity and being too heavy to let the current take away. Then again this is if you need it to feed.
