What-if anything-should I do?

I just noticed that my hippo tang's caudal peduncle spine is exposed on one side. The spine is actually sticking out a little bit. I'm wondering if this is normal or if he may have injured himself. He has a mild case of ich-other than that, eating fine, looks great. Is this a concern?

Without a pic it is hard to tell. If the fish is still eating I would continue to keep the diet up and monitor water quality to make sure everything is ok there.

I don't believe in removing fish to treat them. My thought is that it brings on more stress. Again this is my opinion. Good Luck

Tang's doing better. Guess it's healing on its own. I never remove him to treat for ich either. In the past, all it's done is cause undue stress to this fish. I've just never heard of the spine sticking out.
