Do you guys think a store would make money if they were to sell High end corals in the San Rafael area?

I think they would do alright. when do you open? LOL There is a store in Ukiah doing Mainly SPS and reef fish. They seem to be doing alright. The key to survival is to be willng to do service also. Service is the money maker.

Many have tried and failed in San Rafael and in other parts of Marin. It all comes down to having enough capital to make it for the first three years, or another income besides the store. If you come up with a budget that you think you will need to open a store take that number and at least double it and just maybe you will have enough to open the doors. Take it from me the coral business can be cut throat.
But San Rafael would be a great location.

I would love to see it; but, I think it would be tough.

With only 200K people or so, all of Marin is like Fremont. And, it's more spread out.

I'm sure their are reefers in Marin; but, I bet a lot of them use aquarium service companies.

The best shop in Marin right now is Pet Club in Corte Madera. The manager maintains tanks on the side.

Best of luck,

Roy
