What in the heck is this...

I use this website all the time as an amazing reference, and this is the first time that I have ever posted. With that being said, I apologize if I have placed this thread in the wrong forum. I just couldn't believe what happened last night.

So last night I was feeding, and I noticed something on the side of my Midas Blenny very quickly...

This thing was attached to his right fin and holding on tight. I was able to catch my Blenny and pull it off with tweezers, but it was tough.

Here is a size reference. Keep in mind that my Blenny is only about 3 to 4 inches long.

Anyone Have a clue what this is. If I should be worried there is more. If so, how I can eradicate them.

I'm assuming this was a hitch hiker from the new lr I just recently purchased.

Looks like an isopod. You did the right thing pulling it off. Probably a hitch hiker from the LR.

Thanks for the ID! I was worried because the little guy couldn't even swim right because the thing was weighing him down.

Again, thank you for the response. Its why I love this site.
