looking for inverts to help clean my sand up, i have snails and crabs, but they are hit or miss on the sand..also i have some small pest anenome's starting to pop up, will acouple pepperment shrip take care of them? This is a reef tank so i want to keep it reef safe, also will fish try to eat the shrimp? i have a maroon clown that seems to have his aggressive days.thanks

the peperments should control the aptasia (if it is aptasia). As far something to clean the sand you could try a yellow cucumber, I am not sure of the sientific name but it has done wonders for my DSB. good luck

Crabs and peppermint would be bad for your DSB, they will deplete the populations of fauna which make your DSB "live". Bristle worms are excellent sand cleaners Depending on the size of the tank you can add some nassarius snails. As far as cucumbers go make sure to get the sand bed ones, some are filter feeders, and can be difficult to maintain. Basically if they have branches coming out of their butt then they are filter feeders. Fighting conchs are good sand bed cleaners also.
