What is a good watermark software for digital pictures?

I am starting to take pictures for a friend and want to watermark his pics. What type of software do any of you use? Suggestions? I have photoshop and photoshop elements? Just can't figure out how to do it?

Do the text as a sep layer, fade the opacity, give layer a style for the glow.
