Any advice on getting rid of aptasia? I've been using aptasia X and every time I think I have it all a few more pop up.

Thanks for your help.

Peppermint shrimp have always been a great solution for me. The one time they didn't work I bought a ile fish and. He did the Job.

File fish, he forgot the F.

A matted file fish will eat the Aptasia, but there is a good chance it will also eat corals

+1 on using kalk paste for a few of them. My matted filefish did a great job, but then went after zoas when there were no more aiptasia. I still have a few to kill.

I have been zapping them with kalk paste as I see them, they sure are a pain! I did buy 3 peppermint shrimp, I acclimated them, and as soon as I dropped them in the water my Melanarius Wrasse attacked and ate one of them. After it was finished with its meal, it started stalking the rock they hid behind. I havent seen them in weeks, Im really grateful that I was able to provide a 15 dollar meal for him!

Aptasia X has worked wonders!

Ive bought about 2 dozen pep shrimp and they went to town on them then stopped. A mixture would work best if you ask me!

Get them NOW! Do not wait

I've always wanted to try the peppermint shrimp solution, but my wrasses eat them before they even hit the sand. I've also tried the berghia nudis, and they may have become snacks too as I never saw them again. I ordered a ton of them too.

Thats a shame those nudibranches are expensive. I have heard that any wrasse wil eat them though. Maybe if you can catch the wrasse and put it in your sump long enough for the nudibranches to eat all the aptasia that would work. Just a thought.

I've heard that peppermints can be touchy with corals, I guess you buy a blue throat trigger to take out the peppermints after they are done with the shrimp :D
