What is Calk?

So I am not sure what Calk is, I know it has to do with water quality and I think maybe Lime which I think adds calcium to the water for corals and Such and Such.

Calc as you mean it is likely a corruption of the German word kalkwasser, which is the same as the english word limewater.

Limewater is a solution of calcium hydroxide in fresh water, and is used to supplement calcium and alkalinity, and it also raises tank pH.
