I dont know what is going on with my sps. For the past 4 weeks or s ive been getting stning on a bunch of pieces. I cut off the dead parts and dip them in coral rx and they seem to do alright but its happening one by one to all my pieces. Yesterday i woke up and out of no where my strawberry shortcake rtned over night.today i wake up and my birdsnest colony is stning all along the bottom. My parameters are fine or the ones i have checked, alk is 9.6 nitrates are 5. I keep my tank stable with a calcium reactor. Temp is stable at 79. My setup is 92 corner with acan a103 lighting. I am thinking its my salinity. My refractometer is giving me a level of .025 but my swing arm is telling me its .021. I calibrate the refract with distilled water but its the marine depot brand so im thinking it may be off. I just changed out the filters and di of my ro.di and getting 0 tds. Im going to check my salinity with a friends refract and see if this is the cause. I have a grounding probe so n stray voltage. I dont know what going on.

You don"t want to calibrate your refractometer with water. There is a solution you can by to calibrate it. Do you have any angel fish, butterfly, or any other fish known to pick at corals?

instructions say distilled water.i have a copperband butterfly but its def not him.its stning from bottom up

430 alk 9.6 all checked with salifert. Checked my salinity with a friends and its not that. I have no idea whats going on.im ging to try a poly pad tomorrow and see if anything comes out.all other parameters are in line as well.
