What is it?

Can anyone tell me what this algae is called? It is obviously calcareous and I have had a few bits here and there. Then I got some base rock from a friend and this algae has taken over my tank. It is fairly easy to remove manually but it comes back quickly.

What I want to know most is, what type of fish would eat it if any and if not a fish then what would be a good choice to keep this algae at bay?

Neomeris annulata is the name I have seen after brief review! I don't usually have enough time to research this, but I happened to come across a post just below mine with a similiar question and picture.

Besides having a better skimmer or a refugium, is there any fish or urchin that I can safely use to rid my tank or atleast control the growth of this algae? It is interesting until it grows on every crust and crevis!

If I were to start a refugium, what would be the best algae to use? Something that grows quickly, is readily available, is hardy, but is easily controlled with tangs or manual removal!

Neomeris seems to do well in low nutrient tanks and can thrive under the same conditions you might find acropora in. Chances are you wont be able to outcompete it with a macro. The macro will likely suffer nutrient limitation first.

So how do people control this algae? It seems fairly prevalent in the hobby and in my tank it grows like a weed.
