what is my hammer coral doing?

My hammer coral is very healthy and big. Tonight, I noticed these little white things in my water the size of sand. I looked at my hammer coral and it is releasing these white dots in the water. What is this? In the end of the polyps are these white sand size balls that are being released in my water.

Never saw this before and have own the coral for over 2 years

Mine did that but they were millions of tinny red balls. Your coral is spawning. The coral deflated and inflated several times while this happened it was cool to watch.
