What is the best pump for......

Ok, If I want to drain water out of my tank very fast and then put it back in the same way, what is the best pump for the job and how does it work?

depending on your tank size, if its like a 50-180 gal, a used mag 5 would be perfect. I use it on my 90 and if i wanted to remove all of the water, it could do it in probably 3 minutes.

They are very cheap too, check out the FS forum. You can probably find one for like $20 or $30

ohh, how it works...

Install a tube that you can get from home depot with some kind of tie and just drop in the mag 5, its submersible. You can have the tube the length you need to get to a sink or toilet or wherever. Pretty easy and quick.

Are you trying to drain the whole tank, or just do water changes?

Did you not Qt that tang, and now you can't catch him?

If it was for a one time use, I'd just use your return pump if you have a sump.

THE ROOK, no I don't have a sump, I wish I did.

reefergeorge, just water changes, and no I dont have a system large enough for a tang but I do quarantine everything.

For water changes, I use a maxi jet 1200, and tubing from home depot.
