what is the best way to cut circles larger the 6"?

How "perfect" do they have to be??? I use a circle jig to cut a "jig" then using a router w/ a coller I then cut a circle.

Let me ask this do you have to cut circles. Example, I am building a skimmer the neck has to be a perfect circle, but the acrylic glued to the body will be square.

You could also use a dremel with the circle cutter adapter.

Using a circle template and a router will work as well. I've found templates to be very easy to work with when dealing with standard sizes. Rough cut your piece with a table saw or jigsaw, use double sided tape to attach the template. Then just trace out the template on your router table.

Only catch is that if your template isn't perfect, you'll be making near-perfect copies of a near-perfect circle.. :)

If you have a router table it's easy to make a jig for circles. Just an record turntable w/ an adjustable spindle. Simplest form is a screw through a piece of wood & then spin the acrylic = perfect (or near) circle. Cut a slot & you have an adjustable circle cutter.
