What is the difference between Zeovit and Bio-pellets

I see these two techniques frequently being used in ref tanks. Can someone explain what each does and what is your opinion on each of them? I see the start up is much more expensive for the Zeovit reactor. Let me know please. Thanks

Well Bio pellets are just a carbon source while the Zeovit system involves a carbon source, bacteria source and aa/coral/bacteria food source also has other additives that can help one "tweak" the color of the corals.

What is the best thing to do if I wanna start keeping sps? Im having trouble keeping them alive. Start loosing tissue, bleaching white in a 3-4 month period.

Can you give us some details about your tank (size, flow, lighting, sump, etc.). And what are your water parameters? You haven't given us much to go on.

120 gallon display. 55 Gallon refuge, 35 gallon live rock tank and approximately 55 or larger sump. PM bullet II skimmer, I run GFO and Carbon once in a while. I have a MRC calcium reactor. 2 MP40's. Aqua Illuminations Sol Blue LED lighting

Ph is 8.0 trying to raise it using the calcium reactor. DKH around 11. Calcium 420. Phos always read 0 Trate 0. Salinity 1.025. I just ordered a a UV ster.

Does your alk stay very stable? Another thing have you tried keeping your alk closer to nsw, i was experimenting with raising my alk i went from 8 up to 9.5 and started getting tissue loss. But there are alot of people who have success at 11 and even higher, just a thought though.

My tissue problems started when my alk was low. I was told by MTC to raise my alk to 11-12. Still same problem though. Its a MTC cal reactor not MRC.
