What is the standard...

Greetings all!

I am new to RC and I am in the process of converting my Sump into a refugeum. I am needing to find out what the standard ratio of #of LR to Gal of water.

I currently have a 75 Gal with an est. of 35-40 #'s of LR, and 3-4" of LS. A Berlin Skimmer. My sump/ref has a DSB of 3-4" of LS and no LR as of yet and a 10 watt PC bulb (I am going to upgrade this as soon as $$ alows for it).

Also what kind of alge is recomended for a Ref? I have read that peeps use Calurpa (sp), but is it the best? What else can one use in a Ref to help benefit the system?

Also anything else that I might be missing for this change to realy take hold.

Tanks in advance

There is no particular "standard" for live rock, though, IMO, a minimum of one pound per total gallons of water in your system is a good general rule.

Chaeto rather than caulerpa is probably a good choice.
