What is this coral?

Just purchased this coral, but I completely forgot the name of it. :|. It has a difficult name.

Anyhow, I did not noticed its white/light cream coloration at the Lfs, is it because it's still young and growing?

Goniopora, those can be pretty tricky to keep. You may wanna make a thread in the LPS section to get some input.

Done. In the meanwhile. Why is the bottom of the coral white..? Is it bleaching...!?

It looks as if it is. What are your params? Also what lights do you run and how long have you had the coral?

The bottom of the coral is white because it doesn't get light and won't color up there, what's not good though is the fact that it's completely closed up. Did you acclimate it to your light by starting it off in the bottom possibly in some shade before putting it in the middle of the tank?

Thats how I got him. He's been in the tank for about 20 hrs now. He's out, but not completely. His tentacles are out of the hole and it all looks like a fuzzy pink rock.

My nitrites are 0, nitrates 0, ph 8.0, salinity 1.024, ammonia 0. Temp 79/80.

Dude there's not even any receding flesh, it's just closed up.

It's very much alive. Everyday it extends its tentacles/flesh out more and more. It usually comes out when the lights go out.

T this is it. I ended up going with a hammer and a green learher toadstool. Another option was green leather polyp. Are those good?
