The bottom of the coral is white because it doesn't get light and won't color up there, what's not good though is the fact that it's completely closed up. Did you acclimate it to your light by starting it off in the bottom possibly in some shade before putting it in the middle of the tank?
Thats how I got him. He's been in the tank for about 20 hrs now. He's out, but not completely. His tentacles are out of the hole and it all looks like a fuzzy pink rock.
My nitrites are 0, nitrates 0, ph 8.0, salinity 1.024, ammonia 0. Temp 79/80.
