What is this eating my Zoa?

All,

I'm new to the hobby and have a zoa that I got about 2 months ago. It was doing fine until I noticed one of the polyps was gone. Then I noticed this round light colored thing where the polyp was. Could this be eating my Zoa? And, what is it?

Its hard for me to tell, but it looks like you've had a sponge pop up in the middle of your colony.

Probably sponge.
You can scrape them off with a sharp fine knife.
Those polyps are pretty strong and I don't think that the sponge could harm them, but it doesn't look nice when there is a whole in the middle.
Just take the sponges off. Not a big deal.
Protect yourself against the palytoxin!
Goggles, gloves and close your mouth!!!!!

I do too, but some species take over the polyps and suffocate them really bad!! Better to remove than be sorry.
