What is this? Friend or foe??

I have all soft corals and a couple days ago, the following began to grow in between my ricordia...see pic.

I have no idea what this is. can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Looks like bubble algae. I'd remove it. I usually use a toothpick to carefully scrape them off. Be careful though as you don't want to pop the bubble and release spores.

thanks. is it better to remove the rock it is on, scrap with the toothpick and then rinse before returning the rock to my tank?

try a knife and cut the rock out from under the algae…everything s better done outside the tank…baste it a couple times with tank water to rinse off any loose spores and rock dust...

Just manually remove as many as you can right before a water change. Don't worry about popping them.
