Hi Guys and thx in advance for your help. A few days ago I noticed t his tan growth on my LR that I thought was a sponge. Having leafed through Borneman's book the past few nights, I realized exactly how wrong I probably am. THe big thing is tha the growth has a dimpled texture like a golfball.

What concerns me is some very fine algae that is growing on it.

First, does anyone know what they think it might be (tough to tell by a photo) and can I lightly brush the algae off? Thx.

Ok. I got my macro lens out and snapped some pics of growths or covers that I can't come close to identifying. You may find this easy, but I couldn't find much on the web to help me. Anyone with any ideas can help out. I'm throwing in a pretty good pic of an emerald crab if anyone wants to see one. Thx for all of your help:).

Hey - I got hte pics to come up! Allright! The second one of the tan cover just is to show how much algae is on it and to see how if I can hit it with a tank sponge.

This is one that I am completely clueless on. It looks kind of like a bivalve in tha tthere appears to be a bit of opening betwee the front and back. At first, they looked lifeless but are now adding color and depth.
