What is this orange barnicle lookign stuff

I posted in LPS, and they told me to post it here, cause they thought it might be an encrusting sponge .. I think its killign my coral, but here take a look, what do you think it is:

Just a guess, a coral of some sort, or a calcifying alga. You can clearly see a growing edge extending out from it. Are polyps ever visible from the high corallite appearing parts?

My guess is corraline algae of some sort too...

If you think its killing your coral, just clip the heads off between the "stuff" and the coral flesh, mount the heads and throw the rest.
