What is this stuff?

I bought a trumpet coral and it has this pink stuff growing out of the same rock. The LFS said they werent sure what it was but I thought it looked nice and didnt seem to be hurting anything so y not. Can anyone fill me in on what it is?

Looks like some kind of red macro algae. I would just leave it alone. Maybe post in the algae forum for a solid ID.

Yeah, I agree...do you have Julian Sprung's algae book? I think he would list it as blooming in good water conditions...
