Found this coral growing on some live rock in our vats. What is it and is it still alive?

+1 Porites sp. It's near impossible to say what species at this point unless you can get us a very close pic of a fleshless corallite.

Porites is a Small Polyp Stony Coral, SPS, that usually encrust and is often a hitchhiker.
