What is this?

Looks like a little jelly fish to me. I'm not sure their exact name but I've seen them in tanks before.

One of my local fish store had a tank randomly full of them. They just left them and one day they disappeared as quickly as they appeared. I think they thought they just came in on a piece if live rock.

This is gonna be the first jellyfish live rock hitchhiker I have seen. I've seen an octopus hitchiker, but not sure which is cooler.

First time I have seen them too. I hope they are not hydroids though. My chevron kept trying to eat the critter but either got a slight sting or dislike the taste.

I don't think these are harmful ones, colonial hydroids are a pest but the jellyfish type hydroids are only dangerous to fry. I guess their sting is enough to make them bitter to your fish though. Mine went away on their own, around the same time as barnacles and most of my feather dusters.
