same with that one that one they called an acro but based on the way the polyps lay i doubt it

Not too sure on the first one, but it looks cool. Probably need a more sharp close up pic.

2nd one is a hydnophora

the fisrt one does have a close up ( 2nd pic) sorry it isnt sharp but its the best i can do with my POS camera

anyways thanks for the id on the 2nd. i was leaning to that or milipora

yupyup polyps and the coral skelitons look very similar except one is a plate and one isnt.

now do hydnophora count as real sps? or are they in there own catagory

Don't see how the first one can be called encrusting when it obviously is a plating type of coral. Some type of montipora?

Jason is absolutely correct. Hydnophora come in a variety of growth forms, which is exactly what both of these corals are.

great.. now i need to spend more $ on real sps :P

anyways. i can frag these like any other coral correct.. cut it inhalf with a dremmal

The first one it too beautiful to frag, keep it intact.

The second one you can use bone cutters on, they grow quickly.

yeah i agree the first one shouldent be fragges... atleast not yet. oneday i may break off a lil tiny piece ( 1 inch by 1 inch) and then use that as the 'mother frag'
