What is wrong with my Torch?

So about a week ago, I noticed that my torch was starting to come out of its "shell" a little bit. Today, I noticed some sort of growth, or possible ripping. Not really sure which it is. RIght now, I only have my phone to take a picture so this is as good as it gets until later tonight. Sorry for the sideways pic!

Is the torch hosting the clownfish? If so this could be the problem. I had an elegance that was killed by clownfish. the clowns tend to be rough and can cause the tissue to come off the skeleton.

yeah it is hosting that clown, but it has been hosting for about 8 months. Maybe it is finally taking a toll?

Do you have a second tank? If not I would take it to a friends to get some relief from the clown.

Any idea from clown people it would take for a clown to "unhost"?

someone suggested that it may be called "polyp bail out" caused by stress. In my case it would be the fact that I just changed lighting. Anyone heard of this?

and nope this is my only tank

Polyp bail out is correct, probably from the clowns, assuming you've had the torch for a while. If your lucky the bailed out polyp will grow a new skeleton if conditions are right.

Same exact thing happened to my Frogspawn. I got 2 different FS from the same person. Had them both in my tank for 2 months. Clowns started hosting the one piece, 4 months later the heads popped right off the skeleton. They sat on the sand for weeks until they finally just disintegrated.
