i bought this acro colony a few months ago and it has grown but the tissue seems to be getting thinner and nonexistant in some areas. i thought i had a pest eating it or it was bleaching but im not sure. i originally had it at the top of my tank and it started to lighten up so i moved it to the bottom to prevent from bleaching even more, but it still seems to be losing color and tissue is recessing at the base of the coral. anyone know what could be going on with this guy?

i run 2 250 watt mh hqi lights, have lots of flow, and all parimeters are in acceptable ranges and stable (temp 78-79, alk 9 dkh, cal 400-420, phosphates and nitrates undetectable)

sorry the pic isnt the best but if u look at the front of the coral close u can see it doest even really have tissue but the polyps are still there. also if u look at the base down on the right u can see how the tissue has recessed

I'd say ya gave it too much light so lowering it was good. Keep the flow around it good for the recession and keep and eye on it. Good Luck.

thanks. i have been keeping my eye on it since i moved it towards the bottom and it seems to slowly get worse so i just dont know what to do now.

cut a few frags off of it firstly just in case you lose the colony =/

are your other sps doing ok?
