450-500+ straight from tap.

Wouldn't water softener actually add to the TDS?

Its run centrally by the apartment complex, and looks to be decently maintained (from the pallet loads of salt they get weekly). It should show a net decrease of PPM, but may replace some of the Ca and Mg with Sodium.

how come your guys PPM is so high, don't tell me you use this tap water for your reef or saltwater tanks.

Well, yeah......that's alright, isn't it? :hmm2:

 I never let my RO/DI output TDS get above 1 - 2 ppm. Once it gets there the resin gets changed out. I'm coming up due on changing my filters too.

Mine is 90-100 out of the tap. When a water softener salesman came to my door he hooked up his equipment and then I took a tds reading after my tap went thru his water softener display system and the tds went up to 140-150.

Mine is 27/29 ppm from the tap. I live very close to the city water plant and they come to my house monthly and get a sample for them to check the water quality.
