I have some lights on in the tank from noon til midnight. The lights in the fuge are on from midnight until noon.

Nope.
24/7 is just fine.
You will get AWESOME growth, with means excellent nitrate removal.

My refuge runs from 10pm to 10am just opposite my display tank, although I don't see anything wrong with running it 24/7. I'm working on a new tank for my office that I'm planning on running 24/7 to see how it goes. I'd rather not have the light on in my sump in the living room.

so far refugium is working awsome lots of pods and nitrates drop daily

I do not recomend this marco alge.
It spread to my main display and it's impossible to get rid of.

Worst thing I have ever added to my system, bar none.

Stick with cheato.
