What is your new fish QT protocol

What is your process for adding a new fish and why?

Do you observe fish at the lfs before taking home? For how long?

Do you preemptively treat in your qt? If so what products do you use?

What products do you keep on hand for the common diseases?

Alright, my process is the as follows:

First, receive fish making sure my tank water and Formalin bath water matches the bag water (SG) . Second, I give them a 50 Formalin bath and put him into the QT for about a week and making sure they are eating that the stress is down from the transport/shipment. Third, after that week is up and everything looks ok. I will conduct TTM along with 2 treatments of Prazi-Pro. Fourth, I replace them back into the QT and I do one round of CP for 21 days. Finally, I will observe the fish for an additional 4-5 weeks before going into the DT.

2. Yes, I do observe the fish behaviors and if they are eating before purchasing. Of course, ordering online, you are taking a chance.

3. I keep Formalin, Prazi-Pro, CP, and equipment for TTM on hand.

I've had a few different methods but this is my current:
I spend about a week making sure everyone is eating well before doing anything. Then hypo for 3 weeks while doing four rounds of CP (chloroquine phosphate, not copper) every 5 days. After hypo I raise the salinity over a period of several days and do two rounds of prazipro 5 days apart. I've heard prazi becomes more toxic at lower salinities which is why I wait until after hypo is over.

I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with sensitive wrasses yet given they don't seem to respond well to prazipro/CP/copper.

Thanks guys. Waiting a week after the initial transfer sounds like a great idea. I'll incorporate that for sure.
