I picked up a Tiger Pistol Shrimp and wheeler goby yesterday. I was hoping to find a HiFin Red Banded Goby but went to 5 stores with no luck. The wheeler goby was my second choice, and luckly the last store had one. They had an ok sized tiger pistol shrimp as well so I bit the bullet and got it. They had a few cany cane pistols, but they were half the size.

When I introduced them to the tank, I used a funnel to add the shrimp to a spot that I thought would be good. I had pre-dug a little under a rock. It worked perfectly. Using the funnel, I aimed him right into the cave. I did the same with the Wheeler goby. He sayed there until about 3 hours after the lights went out until he found a new spot to sleep. Hopefully he goes back today when the lights come back on!

What is your pairing? Did you do anything to forced a meeting between the 2?

I have a pair of yellow watchman gobies and a tiger pistol shrimp. They are in a 30 semicube tank. I also tried to steer them towards one certain spot, but they move all over the place and have a dozen different opening they open and close throughout the day. The pistol is always digging and moving sand all over the place. Very neat to watch.

currently have a yellow watchman w/ a tiger pistol

I am having the LFS order me a randalls goby to go along with another tiger pistol, that I should be introducing next week.

Orange Stripe Prawn goby (aka randall's shrimp goby) / randall's pistol in my 46

Yellow watchman / tiger pistol in my 6G fluval edge.

Both pairs move around a little.

had a watchman goby/tiger pistol. one day the goby never was seen again. the pistol is a hermit/snail harvester. my emerald crab was busted up by him I believe also. trying to catch the pistol but a pita.....

I used to have a pair of highfin banded gobies with a candy-cane pistol shrimp. They were a good match, size-wise. Very cute and entertaining to watch.

great video! I was not aware they could move so much sand at once. I havent seen my pistol shrimp since I added him. I do see evidence of him. My Goby has moved in with a pair of chinese gobies on the other side of the tank.
