Getting a newer kind of algae showing up on my rocks and not really sure what it is. It looks almost like corraline but feels slippery and if i brush it with a toothbrush it comes off with a little bit of effort.
Another side note, I honestly haven't had anything in my cuc besides bristle stars and asterina stars in about 2 years or so. Looking to order a package from reefcleaners and not seeing either of those options on the site. Dwarf Ceriths, Florida Ceriths, Nerites, and Nassarius snails are what they've got.
well.. I'll throw in my $0.02
That looks like a sponge or something to me actually with a bit of some sort of algae I guess.. Picture isn't the best for me and its a bit difficult to see exactly what you have there..
There are numerous snails that will take care of "algae"..
Ceriths and nerites eat algae too (typically film algae)..
If you need something that can go after more hair/turf algae then really reefcleaners doesn't have the best products for you..
What concerns me more about your post is that you are running GFO without having a phosphate test kit..
GFO is quite powerful and phosphate is actually a beneficial/required nutrient for all marine life.. GFO is meant to only be used to treat a real phosphate problem and should not just be used all the time without knowing you have a problem.. Running it can actually strip the water of beneficial phosphate and cause more harm than good..
