So I placed an order for pods for my refuge. This little guy was in the bag with them. Just wanting to know what kind. Looked at a hitch hiker guide but can't identify. Has no hair from what I can see.

This crab is pure white except for the black tip on claws. Either way he is in refuge. But if good would put in display

Xanthid refers to the whole genus. There is no indication of a specific species.

I've got one just like that. I originally found it at the beach - I think.. and it's body was the size of my pinky nail. Now it is 1", 2.5" including the legs. I've had it for a year or so and it has never done anything wrong, doesn't bother my coral either. I feed it a shrimp pellet every once in a while and he happily comes out to get it. He has some big claws on him too. It is a neat crab and model citizen. I'll post a pic later if I can find one.

Nice. Well I stuck him j refuge. I have read to many horror stories. Guess you got lucky.
