Most definitely a Blotched Anthias (Odonanthias borbonius. It's slowly becoming more and more available, but commands a high price. Relatively easy to keep. Does best as the only Blotched Anthias in the aquarium unless it's huge or a mated pair. It isn't a super active swimmer, preferring to stick to one area in the tank.

Not sure where this info about keeping singly came from but it isnt true, they do very well indeed in groups. I kept a group of 8 for some years with very little squabbling. My current tank still has three of them in it some 5/6 years later which is pretty decent for anthias. Great fish all round.

That info came from direct observations at the LFS over the years. Happy to hear you lucked out. Doesn't mean everyone will.

The one I saw was a little smaller than a silver dollar. They wanted $65 for it. I priced it on liveaquaria and it was $300! Knowing what I do now, I'm gonna pounce if my LFS get's another one.
